We assess your income, employment status, and plans before recommending a route. No surprises — you know you're applying for the right visa before anything starts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from people planning their move to Spain. For anything not covered here, our team is happy to help.

What is the easiest visa to get for Spain?
There's no single "easiest" visa — it depends entirely on your circumstances. The Non-Lucrative Visa suits those with passive income or savings. The Digital Nomad Visa suits remote workers. The Student Visa is for course enrolment. The right visa is the one you qualify for and that matches how you plan to live in Spain. Our free eligibility check helps you confirm this in minutes.
Can I work on a Spain Non-Lucrative Visa?
No. The Non-Lucrative Visa does not permit you to work for Spanish employers or operate as a self-employed professional in Spain. It is designed for people who can financially support themselves through passive income, pensions, savings, or investments without needing to earn money in Spain. If you work remotely for a non-Spanish employer, the Digital Nomad Visa may be a better fit.
How long does a Spain visa application take?
Processing times vary by route and consulate. The Non-Lucrative Visa and Student Visa are typically processed within 4–8 weeks by the Spanish consulate in your home country. The Digital Nomad Visa applied via the UGE in Spain is usually processed in around 20 working days. Consulate wait times for appointments can add to these timelines, particularly in the UK and US.
Can I apply for a Spanish visa from inside Spain?
It depends on the visa. The Digital Nomad Visa can be applied for from inside Spain via the UGE (Unidad de Grandes Empresas) — entirely online, without visiting a consulate. Most other visas, including the Non-Lucrative Visa and Student Visa, must be applied for from your home country through the local Spanish consulate before you travel.
Do I need to speak Spanish to apply for a visa?
No — you don't need to speak Spanish to apply. However, your supporting documents will need to be translated into Spanish by a sworn translator, and some consulate appointments may involve questions in Spanish. We manage all translations as part of our service, so you don't need to deal with the language barrier directly.
What is a NIE and do I need one?
The NIE (Número de Identificación de Extranjero) is a tax identification number issued to foreigners in Spain. You'll need it to open a bank account, buy property, sign a lease, or deal with any official or financial matter in Spain. Once you have a visa and arrive in Spain, your NIE is usually obtained as part of your TIE (residency card) registration. We guide all clients through this process after arrival.
What nationalities do you help?
We help English-speaking foreigners from any non-EU nationality — most commonly from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Ireland, South Africa, and New Zealand. Post-Brexit, UK nationals require a visa for stays of more than 90 days. Our services are available regardless of where you're currently based.
What happens if my visa application is rejected?
A rejection is not necessarily the end. You may be able to appeal the decision or reapply with additional or corrected documentation. Our team reviews all documents before submission to reduce the risk of rejection. If you have already received a rejection and need guidance on next steps, we offer a consultation to assess your options.
